I’m SO excited about my post for Fun Friday today! I’m showcasing this adorable and unique Verhees poplin sent to me by Emily at Mabel Madison! I have loved this fabric in their shop for so long! I wanted to use it for my Valentine’s Day blog, but I just couldn’t decide how to best showcase it. Then, last week, it hit me! How stinkin’ cute would this be as a cross-body bag for Nevey?!
So, here you have it. I chose the India Hobo Bag (and it’s fully reversible!) by Swoon patterns. I am just starting to dabble in bag making (this was my third), and this pattern is the only one I’ve used. I made the small version, and while it’s still big for a 5 year old, she really loves it. 
And I have to say… I get some pretty serious enjoyment out of successfully installing a zipper and having it look that good on the first try!

I love the fun styling of the fabric! Especially those adorable little girls in specs and the colorway! I played on that and used a funky combo of red polkadot for my zipper pocket linings, a skinny chevron as a contrast, and then this really cool tonal black ombre dot as the coordinate. I just big-puffy-heart-love how it all turned out! The poplin is a dream to work with (feels kind of like Art Gallery cotton wovens, if you’ve used those… soooo soft!)
Now, you know I had to make Neve a shirt to match… Lucky for me, I was testing this adorable Tutu Twirl Tunic by Winter Wear Designs this week, too! The possibilities are sooo many with this one! I went with a heathered red knit for the main body and a simple white lace for the “tutu” part. Neve loves the twirl in the skirt and the comfy fit of the top. Plus, there are a few sleeve options! So we can get plenty of year-round wear with shirts made from this pattern! Yay!
Now, on to my favorite part! The pictures! We had so much fun with this shoot. Then again… we always do! Nevey loved hammin’ it up! This bag, and that fabric are just soooooo her personality. It’s perfect!
