Sew What Do I Wear: Valentine’s Day Edition

Sew What Do I Wear: Valentine’s Day Edition

Sew What Do I Wear? …leggings.  Obvi.  I wear leggings.  Ha!  How’s that for honesty?  My favorite #momlife thing to wear is leggings.  So, whether it’s a regular day or it’s Valentine’s Day, I’m probably going to wear them.  And let’s be honest, with school-aged children and this year’s “lovers holiday” on a weeknight… ain’t no fancy dates gonna be happenin’.  Right?!  So, I decided to take a realistic approach to my Sew What Do I Wear challenge and here we are.
Of course, my staple legging pattern is the PegLegs by Patterns for Pirates.  Isn’t it everyone’s?  I took this gorgeous custom watercolor heart fabric that I bought from The Fabric Snob and made some luscious Pegs for myself.  Then I took this pretty pretty blue striped fabric from my stash and crafted it into my all-time favorite shirt: The Mama Ava by Made for Mermaids.  I did make the curved hem less severe this time.  I LOVE the original curved hem of the pattern, but in all honesty, I didn’t want to have to hem it today. Ha!
The wind was cray tonight.  I took untold [just kidding, I told my hubby.  And whined.  A lot.] amounts of images just to get a smattering of good ones.  Dang you, Mother Nature! 😀  That’s what I get for living in Minnesota, though.  At least it’s not {currently} -40 or something…
I had to top off this crazy comfortable and practical outfit with my favorite fuscia Chuck Taylors.  Ahhhh. <3
So… You know I’m a LipSense Lady, right?!  Well, just in case you didn’t, I’ll give it a quick plug! Today’s smudge-proof, hydrating, and oh-so-pretty lip color is Fleur De Lisa!  It is sold out online, but I do have one extra one left in my personal stash for anyone needing it! Join my group to get your hands on other out of stock and limited edition colors! 😉
Oooh, could look like Mama’s due for a hair cut & color!  Yayyyy!  Now, to decide what to do with it…
Alright.  Now that I’ve been practical… I decided to get a little fancier, too.  Not like swanky – steak and bourbon swanky, but rather – new bar and grill in town swanky. 😛
So for this delicious top, I decided to use the Boyfriend V-Neck from Patterns for Pirates.  Then, since I’m sporting a “winter layer” around my midsection, I decided to mash the body of it with the Free Spirit Tank to give me a little wiggle [err, jiggle?] room.  Guys.  I’m so happy with it.  The floral fabric is a super soft french terry from Sincerely, Rylee Fabric Shop.  Then I paired it with a stretch lace for the sleeves. It is so soft and light and is going to transition into spring perfectly! Yay!  And really, I do think V-necks look much better on me.  I’m not sure why, but I really like them!
I might need to practice being a little more sneaky with my shutter remote… This one is better…
Alright guys!  That’s it for me!  Can’t wait for the next Sew What Do I Wear? tour!  So much fun seeing what all these talented ladies come up with!  Make sure you follow along throughout the week and check them all out!
Yay!  Thanks Megan and Judy for putting together another round of Sew What Do I Wear?  This is always such a blast!
xoxo
