Boys Can Wear Pink Blog Tour – The Kisses Co

Boys Can Wear Pink Blog Tour – The Kisses Co
When I heard that Kelly from Handmade Boy was gearing up to host a Boys Can Wear Pink blog tour, I was all over it!  First, I love to unabashedly dress my gents in whatever I think looks fetching- pink, green, purple, blue, red or otherwise.  Second, this was just the kick in the pants I needed to get my little blog up and running!  So, here we are!
As I mentioned above, the tiny men in my life are no strangers to wearing pink.  The hubs wears it also.  Quite honestly, the lot of them pretty much wear whatever I make &/or buy for them, no matter the color.  I am a bit spoiled that way so far!  I took a tiny stroll down memory lane tonight to pick out some family snapshots showcasing the dudes in my life sporting just another color. 😉  Wanna see?  Good!
Just last summer, we signed up for a Lemonade Stand themed mini sesh over at Andrea Reiss Photography.  Being the theme-lover that I am, I dove in head first!  Pink on the hubs and K2, yellow on K1 and K4.  🙂 We’re not shy!  Neve’s Bayley Hi-Low Dress is available for custom order, and  here’s the link for Hale’s Parker Necktie, too.

Easter 2013.  Awww, they are such little babes here!  All decked out in their Easter outfits.

And in 2011, pre- K4, pink and seersucker all around!  I loved these outfits…  Back before this mama did much sewing.  I did make K3’s headband, though! 😀

In an effort to spare you a complete K-family scrapbook, here is a collage of a few other pink and purple ensems my guys have worn.

And the creme de la creme?  This gem, circa 1989.  Even my little bro could rock a vibrant shade of pink in his windsuit.  Aren’t we cute? 😉

Alright, I’ll get on with it.  As previously mentioned, I do love a theme.  On that note, I couldn’t do just oooone outfit.  Each of my little gents needed to participate at least a little!
I’ll start with my oldest, Cade (aka K1).  With Easter not too far off, I decided to get a jump on his outfit.  I only tackled his tie for this tour, but making him a nice button-down to coordinate is definitely on my list!  Isn’t he dapper?  My boys’ closets are lined with button-downs.  I love how easily they can be dressed up or down.  They are perfect for almost every occasion, in some fashion or another.  I went with a pinstriped blue/white one  to pair with his sharp new pink tie.  I love to throw a curveball and have the boys throw on dark jeans with their button-down/tie combos.  To me it says, effortlessly cool.  Love it!  Just in case your guy needs a custom tie, too, here’s where you can find the Parker Necktie.

And I have to show off his cute little jack-o-lantern grin.  <3  Handsome little sweetheart.

And just because his Ashton Minecraft hoodie fits the theme a teensy bit, I’ll share a pic of that here, too.

Alright, moving on to Hale (aka K2).  This kid is a wildcard.  He’s up for anything.  He’ll wear anything, do anything, try anything.  When I asked him if he’d wear a pink shirt, he said, “Are you going to make it for me?  …then yes!”  He loves his handmade clothes and is first to tell the patrons at the store (and the post office, gas station, school… ;)) just who made them for him.  My little honey.  <3  Given his personality, this fabric from Mabel Madison was spot on.  It’s bold, fresh and playful.  Plus, I knew it’d be comfortable!  Everything from her shop is!  K2 isn’t in school full time yet, so a lot of his wardrobe is comfy/casual.  A nice Carson Color-Blocked Tee in this print is going to be the perfect addition to his spring/summer wardrobe.  I opted to make a size 5, even though I knew it would be a little roomy on his skinny-mini, little-guy frame.  Room to grow, I guess! 🙂
This silly little bub…  It’s nearly impossible to get a still shot of him.  The kid is a streak!  Always movin’.

His giggle is completely infectious.  Thankfully his super funny big brother was around to make him laugh with silly little boy jokes! 😉

Just because he’s smiling so brightly. <3 this little hambone!

Hale and Neve (aka K3) are very close, both in age and in their bond.  They like to dress similarly, and that being so, I had to make Neve a coordinating shirt to Hale!  Here’s a pic from their shoot together, too.

Last but not least, we move on to K4!  Our sweet little Roan.  At his age, he couldn’t care less what he wears, or if he’s wearing anything at all.  This is awesome for a mama who likes to sew clothes and style him in them!  Roan turned two years old this week, so a few weeks ago when I was designing his birthday outfit (and planning his woodsy-themed party), I decided to pull in the theme of this blog tour and check off more than one line on my to-do list! Birthday outfit WITH pinky tones.  Done and done!
I wanted to go with a buffalo plaid because well, I’m addicted.  This particular plaid fit his theme AND it had salmon in it.  Perfect, no?  Here’s the little tyke at his birthday party.  He’s wearing lined jeans (awesome pattern by Patterns for Pirates) that I made out of his daddy’s favorite pair from college.  I paired those with a super sharp Carter cardigan to complete his look.  Between his squishy little face and his outfit, I’m a bit enamored. <3

 Prepare for photo overload…

 Edible, right?!  Ahhh!

I love that I was able to use this little tear from Daddy’s jeans in his design.  Love little details like this!  Plus, look at those little tootsies. <3

 Looooove me some details!  <3

Yep, his eyes are really that blue.  This pic is straight from my camera (minus the logo).  Our little Norwegian boy… <3

So, there you have it!  Three+ different boys’ outfits including pink.  It is just another color around here!  So go for it!  Style your gents in vibrant pinky type colors!  It’ll open up a whole new world of wardrobe possibilities!
xoxo
